A New Era for Indian Indie Gaming Begins
Mumbai is about to become the epicenter of indie gaming as Indie Game Utsav, India’s largest independent gaming festival, gears up to debut at Mumbai Comic Con 2025. Slated for April 12-13, 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre, this landmark event will showcase over 40 high-quality indie games, uniting developers, publishers, and gamers under one roof.
Supported by industry giants Xbox, Xsolla, Specter, and Nodwin Gaming, and with IGDA India as its Community Partner, Indie Game Utsav aims to revolutionize the Indian gaming landscape. The festival seeks to propel Indian indie titles onto the global stage, providing a platform for creators while fostering a stronger PC and console gaming culture in the country.
At the heart of this initiative is Avichal Singh, Co-Founder and Game Director of Nodding Heads Games, the studio behind Raji: An Ancient Epic, India’s first major PC and console gaming success. With Indie Game Utsav, Singh envisions a future where Indian indie games receive the recognition and support they deserve.
“Indie Game Utsav wants to pave the way for upcoming quality indie games from India to find success just like Raji. We are aiming to resolve long-existing B2B and B2C problems for indies,” says Avichal Singh.

🎮 RawFury X Indie Game Utsav (March 24-25, 2025)
A two-day session with Swedish indie publishing giant RawFury, featuring AMA sessions, pitch deck reviews, game feedback, and industry insights.
🎮 Epic Games for Indies (Date TBA)
Veterans from Epic Games will provide guidance on game development, business strategies, community engagement, and marketing via Discord.
🎮 MGN Indie Game Events (Throughout 2025)
Indie Game Utsav is collaborating with MGN Indie Game Events in China to showcase Indian indie games internationally, providing valuable exposure to Chinese publishers and audiences.
India has a massive gaming market, with over 132 million Steam players and PC gaming contributing 22% of India’s gaming revenue. Yet, indie developers have struggled to find visibility in a market dominated by mobile gaming.
